Jamie Redknapp is a former professional footballer, Sky Sports Pundit and columnist.
Jamie Redknapp began his career by quickly becoming one of the most popular and talented footballers of his generation after beginning his career at A.F.C. Bournemouth. Jamie went on to play for Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton in a fast-paced athletic career and gained 17 caps for England before his retirement from professional football in 2005. Since then, Jamie has gone on to form a highly successful media career ranging from punditry for Sky Sports to being Team Captain on the two-time BAFTA winning, A League of Their Own. Alongside this, Jamie has been involved in a substantial number of impactful commercial campaigns for brands such as McDonalds, De’Longhi, Vodafone and Tag Heuer.

Having joined them in 2005, Jamie has continued to act as one of Sky Sports’ principle pundits, passing on his extensive knowledge of the game each week in week out. Also, in the world of football, Jamie writes a weekly column for the Daily Mail giving his insights into the latest developments in the game. From 2013, Jamie presented Sky Sports’ Saturday Night Football alongside David Jones, which continued through to 2016.
Away from football, Jamie has continued to be involved in TV projects including his role as a Team Captain alongside Freddie Flintoff and Romesh Ranganathan on the two-time BAFTA winning sports panel show A League of Their Own. The show has now completed its 14th season and is looking towards its 15th series on Sky One. Jamie and Freddie’s hilarious on-screen partnership has seen the show branch out to for three Road Trip spin-offs across the US and Europe with a fourth on the way and several Christmas Specials.

In addition to his work on screen, Jamie has also been involved in many significant commercial campaigns with some of the nation’s favourite brands. In the last two years alone, he has worked with the likes of Cadbury’s, McDonald’s, De’longhi, Vodafone, L’Oreal Burton, Skybet, Tesco and Tag Heuer.
Well known for his impeccable dress sense and love of suits Jamie became the face of the Marks & Spencer Signature range in 2006 and the ambassador of the World Cup Budweiser campaign. In 2010 Jamie became the main face for M&S Menswear boosting sales by 450% in two weeks, the fashion partnership continued into 2012. The following year, Jamie was announced as the face of Beko’s FA Cup Activity and in 2014 Jamie was unveiled as the face of Avon UK’s bestselling male fragrances Elite Gentleman and Elite Gentleman Untailored, appearing across brochures and the online shop, continuing the partnership into 2017.

Jamie has also worked with Nivea Men on a hugely successful social media campaign titled Redknapp’s Grass Roots Round Up. Following this, Jamie fronted successful campaigns with Thomas Cook and Nintendo Wii, with 2014 seeing a partnership for PANDORA Jewellery’s #PANDORAwishes Christmas campaign, which created a huge rise of 35% in sales. In 2015 Jamie worked with Budweiser on their dream goal campaign to find the nation’s best goal scorers alongside Gary Neville and Ed Chamberlain. It was Budweiser’s most successful UK advert of all time. In early 2016, Jamie worked with Walkers in the launch of their new Tear ‘n’ Share crisps TV campaign, starring in their advert alongside fellow football pundits Gary Lineker and Alan Hansen. Jamie was later announced as the ambassador for the Braun Father’s Day campaign, as the brand released a study revealing a need for British youngsters to show dads the love. Last year, Jamie partnered with L’Oreal for their Father’s Day campaign alongside Jermaine Jenas and Tom Daley.
Jamie is based in Surrey with his two sons and dogs.
