Gordon Smart is a seasoned broadcaster and journalist. The former editor of The Scottish Sun and column editor for The Sun’s Bizarre, Gordon is regarded as one of the leading authority voices on British showbiz. His passion for music and the entertainment industry has driven his career from founding Restless Natives music agency to appearing on well-loved TV shows to presenting his own radio show six nights a week with Radio X.

After working for Bizarre at The Sun full-time for three years, Gordon was made the column editor. Over his 9 years working on the column, Gordon was nominated for Showbiz reporter of the Year at the British Press Awards in both 2011 and 2012. In 2013, Gordon took up the mantle as editor of The Scottish Sun, a position he held for 3 years. Then, in 2016, Gordon was granted the position of Deputy Editor of The Sun. Gordon left the paper haven risen through the ranks to the position of number three at the UK’s biggest selling tabloid.

In addition to his successful career as a journalist, Gordon has made a name for himself as a skilled broadcaster across various platforms. This has included appearances on a number of popular shows; ITV’s Xtra factor and This Morning, Sky Living’s The Face, and Channel 4’s Real Stories to name a few.
Gordon has also taken to radio, with an ongoing relationship with Global that begun in 2011 with him presenting a weekly show on XFM. Gordon has since returned to Global to present a weekly Sunday afternoon show on Radio Six. Gordon has now taken over the 7pm to 10pm Monday to Friday show on Radio X. And, hosts a bonus backstage show, Smart on Sunday, on a Sunday afternoon.
Gordon married Kate Leishman in 2003, the pair have two children
