Catherine Tyldesley is a renowned actress, known for her roles as Iris Moss in the BBC drama Lilies, Eva Price on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street from 2011 to 2018 and Karen Norris in BBC One sitcom Scarborough in 2019. In Spring 2021, Catherine will star in ITV’s new primetime drama, Viewpoint.

In 2019, Catherine participated in the seventeenth series of Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered with Johannes Radebe, week 4 saw them take on their iconic Charleston to Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’. As a result of her success on the show, Catherine took part in the Strictly Come Dancing Tour performing in arenas across the country. 2020 saw Catherine write and star in her first play ‘The Ceremony’, with a second run about to start and a TV pilot in the making.

Catherine’s career has not been limited to acting. She has presented three Tonight programmes and fronted 100 Greatest Walks, both for ITV, as well as regular cooking segments on Lorraine. Commercially, Catherine has worked alongside major brands such as Very and Littlewoods and modelled for House of Fraser.

She sings in the range of mezzo-soprano and her voice has seen her tour with Manchester United and sing at Abu Dhabi’s Checkered Flag ball, ITV Christmas Carols Live, as well as concerts at The Lowry Theatre, Blackpool tower and London’s Cabaret hot spot – ‘Crazy Coqs’.

In her early years Catherine attended St. George’s RC High School and Pendleton College before training at the Birmingham School of Acting (formerly the Birmingham School of Speech & Drama), graduating in 2005 she has gone on to have an immensely successful career with her television credits including Coronation Street, Holby City, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Sorted, Florence Nightingale Red Riding, Shameless and Trollied. She played the lead role of Iris Moss in the Liverpool-set BBC drama Lilies of which she received high acclaim. She also appeared in the comedy television pilot Guantanamo Phil, part of the Channel 4 Comedy

Catherine is a proud mum to son Alfie aged 6 and is passionate about cooking – publicly documenting her weight loss journey – lifestyle and fashion, history and music. She was an ambassador for ‘The Great Swim’ in 2015 and continues to be an advocate for health and fitness for mums and working women.
