Adam Thomas is a Manchester-born British actor and presenter best known for playing the role of Adam Barton in the ITV soap opera, Emmerdale and co-hosting I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp
Adam made his television debut at the age of 13, with a guest appearance on the BBC soap opera, Doctors. Four years later Adam went on to make his break-through role in the BBC drama, Waterloo Road, starring as Donte Charles from 2006-2009. From here, Adam joined Emmerdale where he played the role of Adam Barton until 2018.
He has also appeared in the popular BBC Hospital drama, Casualty, and has performed in Nativity The Musical, playing the Hollywood Producer at the Empire Theatre in 2018.
In 2016, Adam was a contestant on the 16th series of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, where he finished in 3rd place. In October 2019, Adam co-hosted the spin-off – I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp, alongside comedian Joel Dommett and actor Emily Atack.
Later this year, Adam will feature in an ITV reality series with his two brothers, Ryan and Scott and their Father Dougie, where they go to India to trace their Indian heritage. The six-part series will look at the close relationship of the three brothers and their father. With Mumbai being the first stop, they discover the hectic city and its most iconic sights. As the series continues the viewers and the brothers are taken on a journey, where they head to the south of India to fully submerge into the country which contains all the untold secrets of their family history.
In an interview with ITV prior to the family’s trip, Adam said “A few weeks away with my dad and brothers, this is going to be the best lad’s holiday ever! Get me on the plane!”
Adam is married to Caroline, they have two children and live in Manchester.
