Louise Redknapp is an experienced presenter, musician and fashion blogger.
Louise was a former member of girl band Eternal, before embarking on a highly successful solo career. Eternal were hugely successful, becoming the first all-girl group to sell over 1million copies in the UK and remain the top selling girl band of the 90’s. Louise went solo in 1995 and her first album, Naked, produced 5 hits and sold over 1 million copies. In 1997, Louise embarked on her first UK tour, selling out at over 20 venues across the country including Wembley Arena. Louise released a further 4 albums over the next few years before a final UK tour. Louise hit the UK Top 5 again with “Pandora’s Kiss” in 2003.
Louise hosted The Clothes Show and ITV2’s Soccer Aid in 2006 and 2008, and in the same year was a member of the winning girls team on ‘Sport Relief Does The Apprentice’.
2007 had seen Louise undergo her most punishing ordeal to date, exposing ‘The Truth about Size Zero’ for ITV1, a documentary that followed Louise on a personal journey to highlight the dangers of extreme dieting and weight loss. Louise lost 11 pounds in a 30 day experiment to fit into a size 0 dress. 2009 saw a follow up ITV1 documentary, ‘Super Skinny Pregnancies’ investigating the pressures on women to stay in shape during and post pregnancy.
Following co-presenting BBC’s ‘Something For The Weekend’ in summer 2009 alongside Tim Lovejoy, Louise became a permanent co-host in 2010 and 2011. After a successful run in 2010 Louise also returned for Series 2 in 2011 as a judge on BBC One’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.
Louise has also turned her hand to acting, playing Ray Winstone’s wife Irene in Tim Lewiston’s ‘The Hot Potato’ in 2011. Louise became the face and hair of Schwarzkopf’s permanent home hair colour range, LIVE Salon Style and visited Uganda for Comic Relief in the same year.
Louise helped launch Sport Relief 2012, encouraging people to run 1, 3 or 6 miles for charity. In 2012 Louise continued to work with Wallis Petite and Schwarzkopf as an ambassador, also joining the panel as a guest judge for the High Street Fashion awards for ITV’s Lorraine.
2012 saw Louise move into the world of cosmetics. Being a passionate advocate of natural and organic beauty for some time, Louise launched her own paraben free make up range, ‘Wild About Beauty’ which is stocked online at www.wildaboutbeauty.com. The range appeals to modern women taking a fresh approach to cosmetics with a promise to deliver the highest quality make up that performs, whilst never compromising on ingredients.
In summer 2013, Louise co-presented Ch4’s, ‘How Not To Get Old’, alongside Anna Richardson. Louise tested a wide variety of natural anti-ageing methods from unique facial exercises to youth boosting hair and make-up tips. Later that year, Louise became the face of Tu for Sainsbury’s Wear It Your Way campaign, and Dixons for their Christmas Gift Guide campaign. 2013 also saw Louise launch style blog ‘A Style Album’ www.astylealbum.com with friend and fellow fashionista, Emma Thatcher.
Louise continued her success in 2014 partnering again with Tu for Sainsbury’s, alongside other brands such as Wilkinson Sword, Colgate and Dr Organic to front further commercial campaigns. Ending 2014 on a high, Louise and husband Jamie partnered for the first time in four years as the faces of PANDORA Jewellery’s #PANDORAwishes Christmas campaign, shot by Matthew Brookes, creating a 35% surge in sales for the brand. Louise and Jamie have also worked together on large advertising campaigns including Thomas Cook and Nintendo Wii Fit.
In 2015 Louise partnered again with Wilkinson Sword for their ‘Little Things’ ‘TV’ ad campaign, along with Listerine to launch its Advanced White mouthwash, exclusively selecting lipstick shades from her Wild About Beauty range to make smiles look even whiter. Louise also launched the Argos Toy Exchange in association with Barnados to encourage the public to donate their pre-loved toys. Alongside Jamie, Louise hosted the countdown of Disney’s Greatest Songs for Sky and also made ‘TV’ appearances on Celebrity Juice, The Xtra Factor and Strictly It Takes Two.
In 2016, Louise joined M&C Saatchi Merlin management buddy Jermaine Jenas to the famous Bake Off tent in aid of Sport Relief, battling it out to raise money for the charity. Louise later teamed up with Dolmio to launch the ‘Tech Free Tables’ campaign, encouraging families and offering tips for device free family mealtimes. Louise also became the face of Mecca Bingo, fronting their new marketing campaign where Louise can be found in Mecca’s nationwide ‘TV’ advert. In autumn, Louise was announced as a contestant for Strictly Come Dancing 2016 where she joined 11 other celebrities for the 14th series and was named runner-up in the glittering finale alongside Ore Oduba.
Louise lives in Surrey with her husband Jamie, and their sons Charley and Beau.
